Blue Slips at Darkos Automotive Services
Darkos Automotive Services is an authorised Roads and Maritime Services inspection centre that provides Pink and Blue Slip inspections from the workshop for all makes and models. We will provide you with a certificate for both Pink and Blue Slips on the same day.
When do you need a Blue Slip?
A Blue Slip determines whether an unregistered vehicle is safe and meets required road standards. All unregistered vehicles require a blue slip before being registered in New South Wales. This may apply to vehicles with registration that has expired more than 3 months ago, interstate and overseas vehicles, those without number plates and those who need clearance from defect notices.
A Blue Slip inspection is much the same as a Pink Slip to ensure the car meets road and manufacturer standards. However, it is more thorough. It also involves an identity check to ensure the car and parts are not stolen. It is therefore important that you bring along a proof of identity (such as a driver’s licence or passport) as well as proof that you have brought the car (for example, a sales receipt from a dealership or a Notice of Disposal signed by the seller of the car).
